O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

For the past few years, the Voelps have offered us a Christmas tree from their backyard. But, we just haven't actually taken them up on that offer. That is, until this year. We decided we wanted a real tree this year and thought it would be very special and fun to get one from Grammy and Pappers backyard. So, we made our way there over the weekend and cut down the tree. We had fun and we were really excited to get it home and set up. Well, unfortunately, it ended up not working out. We got the tree home and into the house, but little did we realize, the tree was actually HUGE and just would NOT fit in the corner where we wanted our tree. Not to mention, no matter what we did (or, should I say, what Randy did), it just would not stand up. It was a nightmare and Randy finally said, we can either force this thing to fit and get a new stand or we can just get our other tree out. At that point, I could tell he was very frustrated and the joy of the real and special tree was lost. So, I just said, let's get our other tree out. So, as much fun as the process was, we didn't end up with the tree in our house afterall. Thanks for the tree, Grammy and Pappers! (even if we didn't use it, we appreciate it) We did get a fun story out the whole thing, that is for sure ;)
